Short Information & Recruitment Overview
The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal (formerly MPPEB / Vyapam) has officially released the detailed competitive recruitment examination rulebook for the Group-2 Sub-Group-1 Krashi Vistar Adhikari (Rural Agriculture Extension Officer – RAEO) Examination 2026. Applications are invited from eligible candidates possessing a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture (B.Sc Agriculture) or Horticulture (B.Sc Horticulture) to fill 2,784 vacant Executive Class-III posts across Madhya Pradesh under the Directorate of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Government of MP. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications via the unified MP Online portal (esb.mp.gov.in / esb.mponline.gov.in) starting from 03 July 2026 until 17 July 2026. The Computer-Based Examination (CBT) will commence on 02 August 2026 (Sunday) in two shifts across 11 designated cities. Part-B comprises 100 questions covering in-depth concepts from 10 distinct modules of agricultural and horticultural sciences as mandated in Chapter-4 of the official rulebook:
1. General Agriculture
Role of agriculture and its foundational importance in national economy, agricultural trends, food grain production, and GDP contributions.
2. Agronomy & Meteorology
Major field crops of Madhya Pradesh; Agrotechniques of cereal, pulse, oilseed and cash crops; Farming systems and sustainable agriculture; Introductory agro-meteorology, agro-climatic and agro-ecological zones of MP.
3. Soil Science
Soil composition and role in crop production; Physical, chemical, and biological soil properties; Essential plant nutrients, dynamics and functions; Integrated Nutrient Management (INM); Problem soils (saline, alkaline, acidic) and reclamation management.
4. Soil & Water Conservation
Principles of soil erosion control; Water conservation methods; Watershed management principles, rain water harvesting structures, and dryland farming strategies.
5. Plant Physiology
Absorption, translocation, and metabolism of nutrients; Photosynthesis (C3, C4, CAM) and respiration; Plant growth, development stages, and role of plant growth regulators (auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, ethylene, ABA).
6. Crop Improvement
Elements of plant genetics and principles of plant breeding; Hybridization, selection methodologies, mutation breeding, and biotechnology applications in crop improvement.
7. Horticulture
Package of practices of major fruits, vegetables, spices, and commercial flowers; Nursery management and asexual propagation methods; Physiological disorders (unfruitfulness, alternate bearing, fruit drop); Post-harvest technology and value addition.
8. Plant Protection (Entomology & Pathology)
Major insect pests and plant diseases of field/horticultural crops; Integrated Pest & Disease Management (IPM/IDM); Plant protection spray equipment maintenance; Rodent management; Safe pesticide handling and precautions.
9. Agricultural Economics
Principles of agricultural economics; Farm management and budgeting; Agricultural marketing, APMC mandi setups, regulated markets, and digital initiatives (e-Choupal, e-NAM); Agricultural pricing and farm credit institutions.
10. Agricultural Extension Education
Philosophy, principles, and objectives of extension; Administrative hierarchy of extension agencies at State, District, and Block levels; Teaching & communication methods; Farmer organizations, SHGs, and key rural development flagship programmes in India.

Negative marking is 0.25 marks per incorrect response.
